How much does it cost to join?

Family : £68.00
Standard: £48.00
Both prices are for a year and include membership of children under 18.

What if I do one event and don’t like it?

The society offers temporary memberships for

Standard: £20.00
Temporary cost will be deducted from your annual membership if you choose to buy one.

What kit will I need?

For your first few events, people in the regiment will supply you with most of the kit you need before you decide to purchase your own. We have traders at most of our larger events where you can purchase your own kit.

How old do I need to be to go on the battlefield?

The minimum age to go on the battlefield is 16, and there is an “Apprentices” regiment that children aged 10-15 can join to learn their skills.

Do I need knowledge of the English Civil War?

No, you don’t need to know anything about the civil war, most members that join don’t and you can easily pick things up from to learn about the 17th Century.

Will I get hurt?

The battles of the Sealed Knot follow a general script but are made up of fights between individual units. Injuries can happen as the fighting is like a contact sport but these are few and far between and there is a team of brilliant medics on the battlefield to take care of you
